When VH1 polled fellow artists to name the greatest artists of all time, it seemed like a good idea---but in reality, the list was truly flawed. So I thought that maybe we try the countdown one more time, only this time with the perspective of true music fans...YOU..

This list will begin in no particular order, you will see some names that didn't appear in VH1's version, no artist appears on the countdown twice, and the order is not my personal opinion (I personally think Bob Marley is the greatest artist of all time). If you don't like how the list looks, you have the power to change it. Many of them are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - and some will be, eventually.

Of course, this time she took time to lose the weight, but she was in a much better place mentally than before.

Soon after, she landed a role in American Horror Story where she has to wear a fat suit. And this was the second eye-opener for her. Metz said, “It was sobering… I thought, ‘What if I become that heavy and can’t walk around or get stuck in the doorframe?’ I was like, ‘I don’t want this for me.’”

She told Glamour, “I kept auditioning, with no savings and no money, credit card debt gaining interest…I went on unemployment. I bought ramen noodles at dollar stores. I never had to — God forbid — live on the streets; I moved in with a roommate who told me, ‘Stay with me until you can afford rent. Don’t give up.’ People who supported me were like, ‘If you don’t have money for food, I’ll cook you dinner. You don’t have money for acting class? Let’s get together and read lines.’” it’s evident that there were good people around her who supported her when she needed it the most. In fact, she admitted in The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon that she had only 81 cents in her bank account and just enough fuel in her car to get to the audition of This Is Us. Also, when it came down to her and one other actress who auditioned for Kate’s role, she was sure they would not select her, as the other actress was slimmer! This was a role that finally broke down the real issues behind weight: inadequacy, codependent relationships and living in the shadows.”

  • Inverted Pull Ups – Smith machine bar would be set at hip height and all Melissa did was lie down, hold the bar with both hands, and try to pull her upper body close to the bar. This helped shape her arms, shoulders, and chest.
  • Dumbbell Bench Press – Dumbbell bench press instead of using a bar helped her get the most out of this exercise. Her upper back, arms, chest, and shoulders were the main targets of this exercise. She did 3 sets of 12 reps.
  • Dumbbell Deadlift – Using the same dumbbells, Melissa did 3 sets of 10 dumbbell deadlifts to work her lower back and glutes. She concentrated more on maintaining correct posture with exercise.
  • Smith Machine Squats – Smith Machine squats was best for Melissa as it canceled out any chances of lower back injury. First, she would warm up with just the bar and then put 20 pounds on each end of the bar and do 3 sets of 12 reps.
